What is the Ambassadors & Initiative Leaders Retreat?
During last year’s Mexico Summit, several Ambassadors came together for the first time to brainstorm over lunch on how to improve the Sandbox experience for everyone. This even resulted in the new Board forming. As a consequence, we now have proper Ambassador and Initiative Leader working groups. Seeing how useful (and motivating!) these mere two hours were and what impact they generated in the months that followed, we have decided to make it into a full post-Summit retreat.
It will be rewarding for Ambassadors and Initiative Leaders to come together, meet, and derive inspiration and concrete ideas from one another. All this is going to help take Sandbox to the next level. And if you are an ambassador or initiative leader, you are invited to prolong your stay after the summit and join! 7-day Summit, woop woop!
The Board and Governance Council are going to be leading this retreat and going to inform attendees of the exact schedule closer to the time.
Where is the retreat?
The retreat will take place in Pérolas Villas Resort, Bình Thuận. We have booked 8 stunning 4-bed garden villas in this breathtaking beach resort, a stone’s throw from the Summit venue. After checking out of Hola Beach Resort on Friday, 1 March, we are going to make our way to the Pérolas Villas Resort where we are going to spend the night dreaming up the future of Sandbox. Buses are then going to take us to Ho Chi Minh City after check-out on Saturday, 2 March 2024.
I am an Ambassador or Initiative Leader - can I join?
Yes, absolutely! This retreat is designed specifically for you. Please let us know when purchasing your ticket so we book you a spot. We will not be in a position to chase you. It is your responsibility to alert the Vietnam Steering Committee at events@sandbox.is, so we can ensure we have enough room in the villas.
How much is the retreat going to cost me?
Nothing. We have decided that given all your hard work to make Sandbox a better place, this one’s on our community as a thank you for all your time (incl. dinner on 1 March and breakfast the day after).
Who are Initiative Leaders?
Initiative Leaders are Sandbox members who are actively driving key Sandbox initiatives forward. These include those introducing a project, product, event, or service that serves the community’s mission.
Past initiatives have included specialised retreats (e.g., a ski retreat), a bi-weekly peer-to-peer learning webinar (i.e., Sandbox Skillshare Sessions), the managers of Superhive, or initiating a new hub (e.g. Barcelona).
